Color Management Education & ICC Profiling Service
Booksmart Studio is
among the leaders in providing custom ICC profiles and canned (generic) profiles for fine art papers
available to artists & photographers. Through an agreement with X-Rite we are able
to provide these ICC profiles with a subscription plan or free to our customers as a starting point
for your digital workflow. Those who are serious about digital
printmaking understand the value of a true color managed digital
workflow. That being said, they should also understand the importance
of creating custom ICC profiles. Booksmart Studio can help in one of
three ways; first by providing you with equipment from X-Rite, second
by educating you on creating your color managed workflow through either

Generic Vs. Custom ICC Profiles
How can we help?

created a great tutorial for learning about color management and you

Canned(Generic) Profiles
Our canned profiles
are available for a minimal charge on our on-line store. A
comprehensive media setting guide can be found under the canned profile
section page. Please look at our PDFs for any general questions you may have pertaining to working with ICC Profiles.
If you have problems
downloading our ICC Profiles, and code appears in your browser when you
click download, follow these instructions to resolve the problem.
Certain browsers will display a lot of text or code when you click
download, when you see this text, just select File (from the menu at
the top of your browser) and Save (to save the file to your desktop).
This is not a virus, the text is just the raw file information being
displayed in your browser window. Next, find the file on your desktop
and if a .txt has been added to the end of the file name, remove it.
You will then be left with the proper file. Finally, double-click the
file to Unstuff or Unzip it. Once this is done you can install it like

Custom ICC Profiles
We take great pride
in our custom ICC Profile service which is why we have been chosen by
several paper manufacturers to provide them with canned profiles. Being
among the industry leaders in providing generic ICC Profiles to the end
user, it is extremely important to emphasize that these are merely a
starting point. For a true and complete digital workflow, one will need
custom ICC Profiles to ensure the accuracy of their printer, ink, &
substrate combination. Not to mention that each digital and printing
workflow that is employed will tend to contain its own little quirks or
