ArtShield UV Heatset

ArtShield UV Heatset Overlaminating Films

Drytac’s ArtShield UV HeatSet overlaminating films can be applied quickly and easily with most mechanical, hardbed or vacuum type mounting presses. The adhesive coating is initially low-tack, allowing for removal or repositioning prior to insertion into the press. The pH-neutral acrylic adhesive contains UV absorbers for improved protection.

Drytac Overlaminating Films versus Picture Framing Glass
•Drytac overlaminating films don’t break, eliminating a safety hazard
and potential liability.
•Drytac overlaminating films are superior for use in high humidity
environments because moisture cannot get behind the overlaminating
film as it often does with glass.
•Drytac overlaminating films are much lighter than glass, making
them easier to package and less expensive to ship.
•Drytac overlaminating films are competitively priced when compared
with glass.
•Drytac overlaminating films are much easier to use - consider what's
involved in cutting glass, for example.
•Drytac overlaminating films can maintain (or enhance) the texture of
an inkjet canvas print, whereas putting the image behind glass conceals
the texture feel.
•Drytac overlaminating films are available in 17 finishes, most offering
excellent UV protection.

When would we not recommend Drytac overlaminating films over glass?
Since overlaminating films are permanent and cannot be removed, we do not recommend them for images whose value is based on their original state i.e. original paintings, limited edition prints, antique maps, etc.
