Designing & Concepts of the book

Pixel to Book  (3 days)
The workshop is designed to take an idea of a non-traditional artist book to production utilizing inkjet technologies. Artist will work through several artist proof books and complete one unbound printed version. Alternative book structures and printing materials will be discussed. Prerequisite: A body of work ready to be produced in a non-traditional artist book. Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop™ and InDesign™ along with printing technology or (Pixel to Design, Design to Print, and Print to Book workshops.)
•Students should have digital files and any writing completed, before arriving for the workshop.

Fees: $300.00 plus $90 for supplies
Enrollment: (5) MacIntosh users & (3) PC users


Day 1
Morning session- Look at digital files or prints
Afternoon Session- Discuss layout with InDesign for a rough draft

Day 2
Morning session- Look at first draft and start 2nd
Afternoon Session-Discuss binding alternatives & layout structure

Day 3
Morning session- Look at 2nd draft and rework to complete the book
Afternoon Session-Printing final books
