{"id":5015,"date":"2010-10-05T21:05:39","date_gmt":"2010-10-05T21:05:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.booksmartstudio.com\/site2\/?p=5015"},"modified":"2017-09-25T22:35:34","modified_gmt":"2017-09-26T02:35:34","slug":"call-for-entries-deadline-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.booksmartstudio.com\/?p=5015","title":{"rendered":"Call for Entries Deadline Extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>CAll For Entries For \u201c<span class=\"caps\">IN<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">HABITATION<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">EXTENDED<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">TO<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">NOVEMBER<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">10TH<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<div class=\"text\" style=\"color: #000000;\">\n<p>Get Your Submissions Together for our juried exhibition entitled\u00a0 \u201c<strong>In Habitation<\/strong>\u201c.\u00a0 The juror for the show will be David Wright, an editorial photographer based out of Maine.\u00a0 David\u2019s series \u201cAlebtong, Uganda, 2009\u2033 is very well known and he was also the co-founder of the project and exhibition called \u201c<strong>Pause to Begin<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Theme<\/strong>:\u00a0<span class=\"dquo\">\u201c<\/span>In Habitation\u201d is looking for photographs that help explore the landscape and infrastructure of America, the population responsible for it, and the symbiotic relationship between the two.\u00a0 This exhibition explores the ways in which our urban and rural centers operate and fluctuate, creating a uniquely American dynamic of experience.\u00a0 This exhibition will ultimately present a socio-graphic interpretation of America-\u00a0a mapping of people and place.<\/p>\n<div><strong>Juror:<\/strong>\u00a0David Wright, www.davidwrightphoto.com<\/div>\n<p>David Wright is a photographer based in Maine. He has always learned about the world and himself through photography.<\/p>\n<p>In January and February 2009 David spent 2 months in northern Uganda photographing for A River Blue, a school providing psychosocial counseling and intense vocational training in topics like tailoring, agriculture, and arts to vulnerable youth.<\/p>\n<p>His series \u201cAlebtong, Uganda, 2009\u2033 was selected as 1 of 3 winners in the 2009 Conscientious Portfolio Competition and was exhibited at Anastasia Photo in New York from February 5 \u2013 April 14, 2010.<\/p>\n<p>David\u2019s editorial work is represented by Redux Pictures and his Uganda work is represented by AnastasiaPhoto.
